Best Chia Seeds on the market Like many, I became interested in chia seeds after reading “”Born to Run” and started to use chia seeds on a daily basis (usually mixed in with my morning smoothie). I have purchased chia seeds from different producers in order to find the best product and have found that HW’s chia seeds are the best around. The chia seeds are of high quality (no imperfections like dirt or other products mixed in with the seeds), the packaging is great (great design/logo and, more importantly, is durable and sturdy unlike some of the other seeds that I have received in ziplock bags) and the company has a very informative website that has great recipes and information about the product. I also purchased the HW chia bars at the same time (separate review) and thought they were excellent. I have been an Amazon customer for many years and have never reviewed a product but felt compelled to do so when I read an earlier review which accused the company of placing positive reviews. I thought it was an unfair (borderline slanderous) accusation to make and makes me doubt the credibility and question the intentions of the author as it doesn’t appear that she bought the product (doesn’t appear to be an Amazon Verified Purchase) or even mention the product in her “review”. She is either a conspiracy theorist or has an ulterior motive, either way I thought her review was pretty “lame” (quoting her review). Bottom line is that HW has a great product and I am another satisfied customer (check out some of the user reviews on the HW website). I am happy to be contacted if anybody has any questions about my review or the product as I think that the benefits of chia seeds are real and HW has the best product on the market.

Half Marathon Success with Chia I am a first-time reviewer, but I had to share this Chia success story: I trained with the Chia seeds for the approx. 4 weeks preceding the Oak Brook Half Marathon on Labor Day, Sep 5. Prior to training runs, I would soak 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds in water for 30 minutes, then squeeze juice from a fresh lime or orange into the mixture for taste. The night before my race, I mixed 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds in water, then put the mixture in the refigerator overnight, and drank the cold mixture (along with fresh juice squeezed from a raw orange) 60 minutes prior to race time the next morning. I’ve run this race twice before: the course has a punishing series of up-and-down hills at miles 7 and 8 that in the past have left my legs and energy levels shot. For two years in a row, my splits for miles 9-13 were approx. 30-45 seconds slower per mile than my pace in the opening 6 miles. But this year, with the amazing energy, nutrients and hydration provided by my pre-race Chia drink, I was able to maintain the same overall pace after the hills at 7 & 8 – in fact, my split for mile 13 (7:25) was just two seconds slower than my split for mile 1 (7:23), something I have never accomplished in any race. I finished the race in 1:37:26, 14th out of 96 in my age division, 108 out of 1166 overall, the second-fastest half marathon time I’ve ever run, and a whopping 5:30 faster than the same race in 2010.
